Two articles on Japanese foreign policy issues in respect of Asia-Pacific security and the United Nations. In this article, Y. Satoh, the Ambassador of Japan to the Netherlands, looks at the post-Cold War security conditions of the Asia-Pacific region, notes the necessity of economic cooperation for Asia-Pacific security and points out that Japan-US cooperation is the key element for the security of the region.
